VIDEO POKER

Video poker offers a poker simulation that can be played at a fraction of the cost of its table counterpart. Just like slot machines, each additional coin wagered increases the amount of the payout.

CHANGING BETS

Video Poker bets are determined by the value/denomination of the coin being played.

For example: $100 will provide the user with 400 25¢ credits (100 ÷ 0.25 = 400). If you increase the coin value to $5, the number of credits drops to 20 (100 ÷ 5 = 20).

All payouts are made using the same valued coins as wagered.

PLACING BETS

The Video Poker screen displays 3 values:

  • Last Win: The number of coins won from the last hand.

  • Credits: The total amount remaining in your account balance.

  • Bet: The number of coins to be bet on the next hand.

To place your bet before dealing the cards, click the BET ONE button to bet one coin at a time. Each time you click the BET ONE button, you will notice that one coin is added to the bet value. Also, you'll see the payout scale changes along with your bet for ease of reference.

STARTING THE DEAL

If you click the BET 5 button, the maximum 5 coins are bet and the deal begins automatically. If you choose to bet one coin at a time using the BET ONE button you must manually start the deal by clicking the DEAL button.

Once the cards have been dealt, you have the option to hold/keep any of, all of, or none of these 5 cards (see below).

Any card that is held will not be replaced when you draw replacement cards by clicking the DEAL a second time. You should hold any cards you feel will contribute to the best hand possible. To hold a card, either click on the card itself, or click the HOLD button located just below the card you want to hold.

Once you are done selecting which card(s) to hold (if any at all), click the DEAL button a second time to draw your replacement cards. Any card that was not held will be replaced by a new card. The game is now complete and the resulting hand determines your payout.

OBJECT OF THE GAME

In video poker there is no opponent, so the objective is to get the highest ranking hand possible.

HOW TO PLAY

The Video Poker screen displays 3 values:

  • Last Win: The number of coins won from the last hand.

  • Credits: The total amount remaining in your account balance.

  • Bet: The number of coins to be bet on the next hand.

The video poker machine also has 4 buttons:

  • Exit: Exits you from the game back to the casino lobby.

  • Deal: When at least one coin has been bet, the deal button will become enabled. The first time the deal button is clicked, the game begins and the initial hand is dealt. Once the player has chosen which cards to hold (keep), the deal button is clicked a second time to draw the replacement cards and complete the game.

  • Bet 5: Allows the player to quickly bet the maximum number of coins permitted by the machine and immediately deal the initial hand.

  • Bet One: Bets one coin at a time. Once the desired number of coins is bet, the player must begin the game manually by clicking the deal button.

The Bets: Select a denomination for the video poker machine (25¢, 50¢, $1). This will set the value of each coin played. Next, deposit one to five coins into the machine -- use the Bet One button to bet one coin at a time, or use Bet 5 button to bet the maximum coins allowed by the machine (balance permitting). Finally, click on the deal button to deal the initial hand. Note that the Bet 5 button will automatically cause the initial hand to be dealt.

The Cards:. Cards are ranked in order of their face value, with aces considered "high". The ranking is from lowest to highest: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace.

The Deal: Five cards will be dealt to the player. Since there is no opponent, the player must achieve the highest ranking hand possible. The player must decide which of the 5 cards he or she wishes to keep or discard for new cards. Click the hold button beneath each card (or click the cards themselves) to select which cards will be held. Once all the cards to be held have been selected, click the deal/draw button. The machine takes away the cards you didn't keep and replaces them with new cards. The game is then complete and the resulting hand determines the payout.
